Some stunning new gameplay of FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has done the rounds, along with impressions from those who went hands-on. The mech combat title looks to deliver a fast-paced but meaty experience, reportedly taking 50 to 60 hours to complete and presenting choices that could affect one’s playthrough.
Of course, the real question is how it will run on PC. Even if you ignore the iffy performance that Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring had at launch, FromSoftware titles aren’t known for their extensive graphics options. According to PC Gamer, which went hands-on with the PC version at a preview event, the options are still pretty bog-standard (with little information on how they affect performance), but there are now higher frame rate options.
Along with 30 or 60 FPS, players can choose 90 and 120 frames per second, making this the first FromSoftware title on PC to offer the same. Other options include disabling motion blur and enabling ray tracing, though the latter only applies when customizing your Armored Core in the garage.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is out on August 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4 and PC. Check out more details on customization, including the new OS Upgrades, here.
