AMD's 2024 laptop APU lineup which includes the Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" series has been leaked with several SKU names now out of the bag.
In terms of what the AMD Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" SKUs will offer, they are a refresh of the existing Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" family. Phoenix APUs are still in high demand and AMD would first offer the family a refresh before moving to the bigger upgrades in the form of the Strix Ryzen 8050 series which is planned for mid of 2024. These APUs will reutilize the Zen 4 core architecture and offer compatibility with the FP7/r2 and FP8 platforms while featuring support for DDR5/LPDDR5x memory. Moreover, Hawk Point APUs will be confined to the same RDNA 3 graphics architecture.

In a previous leak, we saw Phoenix3 and Phoenix4 IDs surfacing on the PCI ID Repository, which suggested that AMD has designated the codenames to the Ryzen 8040 series. If we look at how the Ryzen 8040 APUs will position themselves in the market, it seems like the laptop segment is going to benefit the most from it, especially by utilizing the "HS-series" variants, since they are rumored to bring decent performance efficiency onboard.
