AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU has been listed by Best Buy Canada for retail pricing of $659.99 CAD which converts close to its US MSRP.
This is the official listing by the retailer for the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU which will be available in retail this Thursday. The pricing set by the Candian outlet of the retailer is $659.99 CAD. This pricing converts to $490 US which is $40 US higher than the US MSRP for the chip that is set at $449 US. It's not a big deal but there's also an interesting comparison to be made here.
The predecessor to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the 5800X3D, is currently listed for $599.99 CAD at the same retailer which means a $60 CAD higher price is being charged for the new 3D V-Cache chip. Furthermore, while the 7800X3D delivers much better gaming performance than the 5800X3D, its platform cost may end up higher than what you pay for on AM4.
AMD did launch its A620 boards that offer better value but you can also find something like a B450 or B550 in similar price ranges and they offer much better I/O capabilities. DDR5 and DDR4 memory costs are also another things for consideration though the prices for DDR5 16 GB kits have come down a lot over the past few months. The CPU is said to be available for backorders which are going to be fulfilled by the 28th of April but there's no pre-order mentioned which means that we will only get a hard retail launch for the chip.
The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is going to be the true successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which has been a hot gaming chip ever since it launched in retail. This CPU is going to be the ideal choice for gamers with 8 cores, 16 threads, and the same 104 MB of cache (32 MB CCD, 64 MB V-Cache + 8 MB L2). The CPU comes with a base clock of around 4
