Announced shortly after Bethesda's RPG arrived in 2011, the incredibly ambitious mod known as has been in development for over a decade as the team behind has painstakingly worked to add the entirety of into. It's a massive undertaking, and based on the latest footage, development is progressing steadily.
Posted to YouTube, the video, which was released to celebrate the 22nd Anniversary of the launch of, breaks down the mod's journey in extreme detail, going over aspects like how the developers concocted the idea and even listing some of the project's initial titles.
Before too long it gets into the specifics, providing some insight into the game mod that will include every single location and NPC that players would have encountered in transplanted into. The stats are mind-boggling, especially when one considers that the whole endeavor is being put together by a group of volunteers.
The team has yet to provide a release date but has shown off some key production points. In terms of locations, 93% of the exterior tilesets have been created, while 87% of the interiors are complete, with a neat map indicating the inclusion of regions like the Bitter Coast, the West Gash, and Zafirbel Bay. Perhaps most impressive is the amount of NPCs included in the mod as the video demonstrates a comparison between 's 1,100 voiced characters, and 's monumental cast of 3,000 NPCs brought to life by 300 voice actors.
As far as quests and stories are concerned, currently sports 16 active writers contributing to the mod's narrative and adjusting 's dialogue to better fit with 's speech system.
