Tony Todd, the very first Candyman and also the voice of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games has made a faux pas on social media and told everyone when the game is coming out. According to Todd, the Spider-Man 2 release date will be in September this year and it will be preceded by a massive advertising campaign.

Since his Tweet, which he has not deleted, Todd has tried to back track on his comments and suggested it all a ‘fever dream’ brought on by ‘jet lag’.

The Spider-Man 2 release date leak does line up with an announcement from Creative Director Bryan Intihar on the PS Blog last December:
“What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.”
The 2023 launch year has been set since Spider-Man 2 was announced during a State of Play stream in September 2021.
