Action RPG Wayfinder Gets a Packed New Trailer and Closed Beta Begins Next Week
Wayfinder , the upcoming free to play online action RPG from developer Airship Syndicate and published by Digital Extremes, just got a brand new trailer and closed beta announcement at the Sony State of Play event.
Along with details about the game’s premise,an introduction to the world of Evenor, and some of the characters you may find yourself fighting alongside. Evenor is a “fallen world” and it’s up to the Wayfinders to fight back against the hostile forces that have turned Evenor into that fallen world and caused so much destruction.
These are the characters you’ll be using, as they are the Wayfinders, all with their own abilities and strategies. If you like to get into the fray, there are melee fighters, if you prefer to strike fast and get out, there are options, and ultimately, like most ARPGs, building the best team with your friends is going to be an important part of Wayfinder.
Of course, there are battles to be fought and loot to be won. With your loot, you can turn that not only into new gear, but also unlock new Wayfinders to use. This is done in the social hub of Skylight, which is also shown off in the new trailer. The world is colorful and lively, so there looks to be lots to do. They’ve also covered dungeons, known as Lost Zones. These will be modifiable in some way to add to the challenge, which will naturally result in greater reward. Team up and take on quests, and of course, slay bosses and leave with treasures. The clip of slaying a titan in the trailer make the whole thing look satisfying.
Beta testing for Wayfinder will start on February 28th on PlayStation 5 and PC, with more betas later, and Early Access this spring. They’re taking tester applications here, where you can also find out
