Sleeper hit Vampire Survivors continues to be a very popular game on Steam, with thousands of simultaneous players at any given time. However, in an exclusive interview with GameSpot, studio head Luca Galante says that a Vampire Survivors 2 is «unlikely» for now, though he didn't rule it out entirely.
In the interview, Galante explains how the game transformed from a hobby project that initially failed to attract his goal of 100 players to a monster hit that dominated the Steam sales charts for months. When asked about the future of the game, Galante stated that a hypothetical sequel to the game is unlikely, because its current DLC plan has achieved so much success.

The game's latest patch released on February 9, and added a new challenge stage, two relics, and three achievements.
