Many 90 Day Fiancé stars from Eastern Europe have strong feelings about the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, as Ukrainian cast member Yara Zaya slams Russian cast member Sasha Larin for supporting his home country. When Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, Yara and other Ukrainian cast members were horrified by the attack and many spoke out against the war.
Yara in particular has been especially vocal, and beyond her assurances to viewers that her family is safe, she’s been going the extra mile to spread awareness about what’s been going on in her country. The 90 Day Fiancé season 8 star appeared on Fox News to talk about the war and has attended a protest in New Orleans as well. Though many 90 Day Fiancé alums support Ukraine, season 7 cast member Sasha Larin is a vocal supporter of Russia.

It’s somewhat understandable that Sasha still has love for his country, but his comments about the war have been shocking. “You have to be a complete idiot if you think that Russia invaded Ukraine without any [justified] reason,” Sasha said on Instagram after the initial invasion. Of course, Sasha’s support for his homeland didn’t sit right with Yara, who took to Instagram with a response after seeing what Sasha had to say about the war. Yara recently posted a picture of a dead Ukrainian citizen with the caption, “Very interesting @Alexander.G.Larin do you still think this is a special operation? For those who don’t know, Sasha said on his IG that in Ukraine it’s not a war, it’s special operation."
Yara is right to be upset with Sasha for downplaying the atrocities currently going on in her country, especially because she’s received so much
