At the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 Tell-All, Ben Rathbun had many opinions about his fellow cast members, but some viewers don't think he's in any position to dole out advice. 52-year-old Ben flew to Peru to meet Mahogany Roca, who is in her early 20s. She told him not to come, but undeterred, he still got on the plane. Mahogany did not reply to Ben's texts for a couple of days, and when they met up, she was quick to leave. Despite this, the two went on a vacation together, but Mahogany left without telling him. At the Tell-All, Ben revealed that he later returned to Peru. Once again, Mahogany did not reply to his texts when he landed. However, he said that he was able to encounter her anyway.
During the Tell-All, Ben told his fellow cast member Kim Menzies that he doesn't think women should go after men, comparing men to lions and women to gazelles. The comment was in reference to Kim's relationship with Usman «SojaBoy» Umar. Ben has since apologized, although many fans did not think the apology was genuine. In addition, after the Tell-All, Ben said to the the B90 cameras that he thought his fellow male cast members had been acting weak at the reunion. What's more, when listening to the stars discuss their relationships, Ben gave them advice and suggested that some of them seek out counseling. He then claimed that because he is a former pastor, he had a lot of experience giving advice to couples.
