Four EA games are set to shut down on Friday, May 24, so anyone interested in playing them to their fullest should definitely make sure to do so between now and then. Multiple EA games have shut down since the start of 2024. While it's disappointing whenever games are shut down, the bright side is that EA has consistently let fans know in advance before it pulls the plug on any of its various titles.
EA shut down a whopping seven games in March 2024, with two more titles shut down in April. The March 2024 shutdowns mainly consisted of F1 racing games, but Micromachines World Series and Rocket Arena were also deactivated. In April, EA fans lost the ability to play the mobile game Kim Kardashian Hollywood and the online features in Madden NFL 20. Now EA fans should take note of the four games shutting down on May 24.
On May 24, EA will be shutting down EA Sports MLB Tap Sport Baseball 2023, F1 Mobile Racing, Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, and MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022. These shutdowns mainly impact mobile gamers, and so they probably won't cause quite as much fuss as some of EA's other shutdowns. Still, anyone that wants to play these games should make sure that they do so ASAP, as time is running out.
Looking ahead, there are at least four more EA games being shut down in 2024, though it's possible more will be added to the chopping block in the coming months. Super Mega Baseball 2 is shutting down on July 24, while Disney Sorcerers Arena will be shut down on July 31. NHL 20 is being shut down on September 16, and finally, FIFA 22 is shutting down on November 4. Again, gamers interested in playing these games and enjoying their online components will want to make sure that they do so between now and their shutdown dates.
EA isn't the only company that's been shutting down and delisting its games. In fact, Capcom just recently confirmed that it is delisting 3 games from Steam on May 8, so fans should keep that in mind.
