One of the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movies is set to be focused on Zuko, and the perfect story for him would be the answer to his biggest mystery in the show. While the original series ended with very few loose ends, there were a few plot points left unresolved, the biggest one being the fate of Zuko’s mom. The best story for the upcoming Zuko movie to tell would be an answer for that, and there’s even already a story written for them to work with.
In Book 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko learned that his mother, Ursa, was banished from the Fire Nation after helping Ozai become the Fire Lord, which made it possible that she was still alive after her disappearance. The series finale had Zuko ask Fire Lord Ozai where she was, but his response was never shown. The show ended with the mystery of Ursa’s whereabouts left unresolved, something that even The Legend of Korra made fun of in its premiere when Ikki cut Katara off from explaining what happened.

With that in mind, the perfect story for the upcoming Zuko movie would be to finally answer the mystery of what happened to Ursa. Ursa’s fate was easily one of the biggest stories Avatar: The Last Airbender left hanging, so if there’s going to be a movie centered around Zuko, then it would make sense for that story to finally be resolved after more than a decade since the show’s ending. The idea especially makes sense considering how there’s already a canon story about that for the movie to adapt: the Last Airbender comic, The Search.
