In addition to returning to her Emmy Award-winning role as Rue, Zendaya plans to direct an episode of Euphoria season 3. The former Shake It Up star is coming off a banner 2021 year in which she starred in Denis Villeneuve's Oscar darling Dune, which took home six technical awards, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe's blockbuster sensation Spider-Man: No Way Home. Zendaya is expected to return as Chani for Dune: Part 2, which could begin filming this month, and as MJ in the MCU's Spider-Man 4.
Other than starring in massive blockbusters, Zendaya has also been pouring her heart and soul into her role as a recovering drug addict Rue Bennett on HBO's teen drama. Zendaya leads Euphoria's ensemble cast alongside a slew of rising stars, including Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Javon Walton, Austin Abrams, and Dominic Fike. Euphoria finished airing another successful season earlier this year, which reached Game of Thrones-level popularity on HBO. There are currently no details about Euphoria season 3, which is currently in development, though its lead star has big plans for the upcoming installment.
