Fans of Ubisoft’s long-running stealth series can now sample Assassin’s Creed: Mirage for free. For the next two weeks, gamers can download a free trial of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, giving them two hours to try out the latest installment of the franchise.
Following on from the epic Viking saga of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, 2023’s Assassin’s Creed: Mirage delivered an ambitious tonal change of pace for the franchise. This latest installment promised to return to the series’ roots after several years of vast open-world RPG experiences, with a more linear story and gameplay prioritizing stealth and parkour over the hack-and-slash action of Origins, Odyssey, andValhalla. Set in 9th-century Baghdad, the story follows Basim — a returning character with a long road to travel before his appearance in Valhalla’s Saxon Briton – over his journey from street thief to master assassin. From April 16 – April 30, players can try out Assassin’s Creed: Mirage with a new two-hour-long free trial. Progression from the trial will carry over into the full game, allowing anyone who later purchases Mirage to continue the story from where they left off. Whether they already own the game or not, all players will also receive a free Eivor skin for Basim, further linking the two games. Anyone who enjoys the trial can then choose between the different versions of Assassin's Creed: Mirage, including a deluxe edition which comes bundled with a digital artbook, soundtrack, and unique Prince of Persia-inspired content.
