Marvel Comics just released an exciting new trailer for Judgment Day, the upcoming event that will see the franchise's three biggest superteams, the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Eternals, collide in this summer. The trailer contains never-before-seen artwork from the series, and teases some of the major plot points in this epic showdown.
The X-Men have conquered death. Thanks to the mutants' Resurrection Protocols, the citizens of Krakoa are now effectively immortal. Knowledge of this has been kept hidden from the public, but the trailer teases that the secret won't last long. The Eternals, on their side, have recently come to the conclusion that mutantkind can be considered an offshoot of the Deviants, and the Eternals' Third Principle, ingrained in their DNA by their creators the Celestials, is "correct excess deviation." The Eternals are thus going to wipe out Krakoa, and the Avengers will try to stop the conflict, without fully understanding the scope of what they are getting involved in.

A.X.E.: Judgment Day will be written by Kieron Gillen, with art by Valerio Schiti and Marte Gracia. The trailer released by Marvel shows Destiny, the mutant seer, foretelling a war coming to Krakoa, but not against ORCHIS, mutantkind's sworn enemies. Destiny's warnings will not be of much help, however, as the trailer showcases some dramatic moments for the X-Men, including Wolverine being grievously wounded in an attempt to protect Hope Summers from Jack of Knives, the deadly Eternal who infiltrated Krakoa and discovered the Resurrection Protocols.
