The X-Men could be headed towards a holy war between the followers of the prominent religious figures that have risen up on Krakoa: Hope Summers, the «Mutant Messiah», and David Haller, aka Legion, the son of Professor Xavier. Neither of them has been actively trying to establish a religion, but their powers and achievements are building two cults that could clash in the near future.
Founding the nation of Krakoa has changed mutant history forever. For the first time, mutantkind has united as one, single entity, which made them stronger than ever but also posed a long list of problems. Establishing a new community comes with its challenges even when its members are not superpowered outcasts. While the political and legal aspects of life on Krakoa have been more or less ironed out by the rules of the Quiet Council, its spirituality and culture are still taking shape. Religion is, of course, an important part of many communities, but also a very delicate subject among a population of people who have been persecuted for most of their lives.
