The first look at Marvel Studios' X-Men '97 show, the continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series, has arrived. The iconic 1990s animated series ran for five seasons before its conclusion in 1997, but Marvel Studios announced plans to bring the show back in 2021. The show is an iconic piece of Marvel content for comic book readers in the 90s, with its ambitious stories and instantly recognizable X-Men: The Animated Series theme song among the standouts.
X-Men '97's development comes on the heels of plenty of mutant activity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving audiences even more curious about what Marvel Studios will do with the series and its possible connections to the multiverse. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Professor X (Patrick Stewart) cameo was done with the X-Men: The Animated Series character design in mind, while Ms. Marvel used the theme song for Kamala Khan's mutant reveal. These teases only continued to build excitement for what X-Men '97 could deliver.
