Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third Fantastic Beasts movie, but it's not clear whether there will be another. Initially, Fantastic Beasts was conceived of as a trilogy. Since then, the Harry Potter spin-off has expanded with five films being planned by writer J.K Rowling and director David Yates. With three of the five planned movies being released, however, the future of the franchise has been uncertain, to say the least.
The first movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was generally well-received by critics and audiences alike and earned over $800 million at the worldwide box office. This naturally called for the sequel to be thrown into production immediately. The second film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was less successful. The sequel earned around $150 million less at the box office and is currently the worst-reviewed film in the Wizarding World franchise on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Still, a third film was placed into production by Warner Bros. with Yates returning to direct, meaning Fantastic Beasts 3 would save or ruin the franchise. The third film was released in April 2022 and has thrown the franchise's chances of lasting the planned five films into doubt.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely Fantastic Beasts will see another film released to follow The Secrets of Dumbledore.
