It’s blockbuster news that Netflix has been losing lots of subscribers lately. But there's one thing that might convince them to return: a new season of Stranger Things.
GetWindstream surveyed 1,000 people(Opens in a new window) about their streaming habits and found that the return of the super-nostalgic supernatural show would inspire 60% of respondents to renew their Netflix subscriptions. It just so happens that the series returns this week after a break of three years, so it’s time to put that to the test.
If people do return to Netflix, they might want to stick around for a second season of Squid Game, the smash hit from South Korea. While there’s no release date yet, 45% said they would renew to keep watching the gory thrills the show provides. Those who love the show You have a fourth season with Joe in Paris(Opens in a new window) to look forward to; 34% of those surveyed said they’d renew to watch it. The Witcher has cast its spell on 33% of respondents, who said they’d hand over the subscription fee for more episodes. And Bridgerton just revealed the plot of its next season(Opens in a new window), which is sure to please the 30% who said they need more memos from Lady Whistledown.
Subscribing just for a show isn’t uncommon: 73% said they signed up just to watch a new season, and 18% admitted it's their motivation for subscribing most of the time.
