Barry Plath never seemed to ask for much on Welcome to Plathville, and now that he is single, fans are starting to feel bad for the patriarch. Through four seasons of the series, Barry stood on the sidelines as Kim Plath ran the show. Now, he has been left high and dry after being told that his 24-year marriage with Kim isn't going to work out.
Barry was never the most vocal Welcome to Plathville star, and he often let Kim take the lead when it was time to speak with the Plath children and lay down the law. At times, Barry came across as creepy and robotic, thanks to his slim stature and tightly pursed lips. However, deep down, viewers could see that he loved his family and wanted the best for them. Barry eventually outgrew the need to talk down to his children, and seems to have started to bond with them more. Now that the couple has revealed their intention to divorce, fans are feeling pity for Barry, as he tries to figure out what the next step in his life will be.

After Barry told the cameras that he felt betrayed, he gained more supporters. It is going to be a hard few months for him, with fans knowing that Barry will need all of the kind words he can get.
Barry's sadness isn't lost on fans, as they have watched him talk privately with his children about the marriage, and even break down into tears.
