The Halloween franchise has seen a number of characters, places, and more, including some brands, as is Silver Shamrock, which was a key element in Halloween III: Season of the Witch, but it didn’t return to the franchise after that – and here’s why. The Halloween saga has gone through different retcons that have made way for different timelines, most of them with Michael Myers as the villain and him going after different targets, but there’s one timeline in the Halloween series that lives in its own universe: that of Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
The Halloween franchise kicked off in 1978 with John Carpenter’s Halloween, which introduced the audience to Michael Myers and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Michael continued his killing spree in Halloween II, which picked up minutes after the end of Halloween and showed how hard it is to kill Michael Myers. After Halloween II, Carpenter went back to his original plan for the Halloween series, which was for it to be an anthology movie series, and with Halloween II being the end of the Michael Myers story, the next movie, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, was completely unrelated to the previous movies.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch changed Michael Myers’ murders for a story centered around witchcraft, in which Dr. Dan Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin) investigate a mysterious murder that leads them to Conal Cochran, the owner of the Silver Shamrock Novelties company. Cochran was trying to resurrect the ancient aspects of Samhain, and to achieve that, he planned to kill children through his very popular Halloween masks and a TV ad with the catchiest jingle ever.
