Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's continued service hasn't been as efficient as some players would like, but Arceus' delayed entry to the game is a particular disappointment. Unfortunately, Pokémon's godly legend isn't the only creature missing from the Pokédex at launch, with famous monsters like Darkrai and Shaymin only added recently. When Pokémon Diamond and Pearl was first released, Nintendo steadily released legendaries as events for movies like The Rise of Darkrai. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl games, revamping Sinnoh with new graphics and mechanics. Players assume the role of Dawn or Lucas and travel throughout the region, defeating Gyms and eventually conquering the Elite Four and Champion Cynthia. Unfortunately, several high-profile Legendary and Mythicals failed to appear at launch, including Shaymin, Darkrai, and Arceus. However, there are many reasons that Nintendo and Game Freak may have chosen not to release Arceus for several months, including the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and a desire to extend the game's lifespan.
