A new trailer for the Where The Crawdads Sing film adaptation teases murder, mystery, and a complicated romance. Where The Crawdads Sing is based on the best-selling novel by Delia Owens about a North Carolina girl named Kya, nicknamed «The Marsh Girl,» who learns to survive in the marshes as a child and struggles to fit into the «civilized» world as she gets older. Eventually, Kya is involved in love triangle that spirals into an accusation of murder, pitting her against the sheriff, the court, and the town. To date, the novel has sold over 12 million copies, making it one of the best selling books of all time, garnering the attention of Hollywood.
Reese Witherspoon acts as executive producer on the feature adaptation, which is directed by Olivia Newman and written by Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild). Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People, Fresh) stars as Kya, with Taylor John Smith as Tate and Harris Dickinson as Chase Andrews, the two male characters who fight for Kya's affections. Where The Crawdads Sing also stars Garrett Dillahunt and David Strathairn, and features a new Taylor Swift song on its soundtrack, entitled «Carolina,» as the singer is a fan of the book and sought to contribute to the adaptation.
