WhatsApp is likely to introduce new features for its WhatsApp Desktop users as well as iPhone users that will change how they see chats. Yes! Its latest beta version has hinted that the instant messaging app may soon update its WhatsApp Desktop app with a new feature. As per the info shared by WhatsApp development tracker WABetainfo, WhatsApp Desktop, the standalone WhatsApp app used on Windows and Macs, will soon get the ability to generate preview of links. This feature will generate a preview for the link pasted within its chat windows with a small thumbnail, making it look much better than now and be helpful to a degree in indicating to the user whether the link is interesting enough to be clicked.
This feature is already available on WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS versions. WhatsApp Desktop, too had link previews, but they stopped working recently due to some technical reasons. However, the app has finally fixed the issue and WhatsApp Desktop is now able to generate link previews again! The new feature has been spotted on WhatsApp Beta.
Not only WhatsApp Desktop but the Meta owned instant messaging app will also be rolling out a new feature for WhatsApp for iOS. The feature will let WhatsApp users on iPhones use group polls. The users will be able to create a group poll and add up to 12 possible options within the poll. Additionally, WhatsApp users will also be able to move an option to a different position. The feature has been spotted on WhatsApp for iOS 22.8.0.72 beta update and is likely to be made available for all.
