What We Played #608 – Final Fantasy 16, Aliens: Dark Descent & Pikmin
With the arrival of Final Fantasy XVI we’ve finally got one of the summer’s biggest tentpole releases. Nic thought it was very, very good, and while I’m only four hours in so far, I’m more than willing to believe him. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it this weekend.
Tuffcub has apparently been playing Destiny 2, but he’s not been very well this week so I think it’s more likely that he’s recuperating. Get well soon buddy!
Aran has been dividing his time between Psychonauts 2 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland. He tells us, “I’m enjoying both with their different brands of comedy, and they’re fun worlds to wander in. I’m about halfway through Psychonauts and only done a few hours in Wonderland.”
Ade celebrated this week as he’s actually finished some games! He says, “I polished off A Plague Tale: Requiem and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Enjoyed them both hugely, though in very different ways!”
Jason has been playing a lot of Diablo IV, but he’s not quite as happy about it as some, “I’m not as high on it as a lot of people. It feels like it’s a fun game, but the story is fairly cliche, and there’s too much reliance on gear for build viability.”
Nic B has purely played Final Fantasy 16! So much Final Fantasy 16! He liked it!
Meanwhile, Nick P has surprised no one by playing more Street Fighter 6. He did mix things up a little by finishing up Jedi Survivor as well which he really enjoyed!
Gareth played Diablo IV and Dead Island 2, mostly the former. He also dived into the PS+ catalogue update this month. His rundown goes like this, “Elex 2 (already deleted, dreadful), Redout 2 (it’s Wipeout), and ive downloaded a few others I cant remember the names of, though one is a vineyard/winery simulator.
