What time does the MultiVersus open beta go live?
The MultiVersus open beta will go live today for some users, before opening up to everyone next week.
The beta goes live today at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST, but will only be available to certain players at first.
This early access period is mainly open to those who participated in previous tests, including the closed alpha earlier this year.
However, other players will be able to get access to the game by receiving Twitch Drops while watching the game’s official Twitch channel.
For anyone who doesn’t have early access, the beta will then fully open to all players from July 26 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST.
The game will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC with full cross-play support.
To all intents and purposes, the open beta will mark the game’s official release, with players able to start their game progress from today and assurances from Warner Bros Games that this progress won’t be wiped.
The open beta will include the following at launch:
An end date has not been set for the open beta, which will “continue to get updated with new characters, maps, seasonal content, and more in the months ahead”, suggesting any ‘final’ release will simply come as an update to the existing software.
The open beta will be free-to-play and will include optional in-game purchases, and any progress or purchases made during the beta period will remain intact when the game comes out of beta.
“Player progression and unlocks earned during the MultiVersus Open Beta will carry forward through the life of the game,” Warner Bros Games confirmed.
Because it’s a free-to-play game, players do not need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live membership to play MultiVersus.
