Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader's fight in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 sets up their real duel, but the winner of the highly anticipated rematch is already known. When it was first announced that Hayden Christensen was returning as Darth Vader in the Disney+ series, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy touted he'd participated in the «rematch of the century» against Ewan McGregor's Kenobi once more. Considering that the last time the two clashed lightsabers ended with Anakin Skywalker burning on Mustafar, there has been great interest in seeing what will happen.
Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 included Kenobi and Vader coming face-to-face for the first time in 10 years. Darth Vader hunted his former Jedi Master across the mines of Mapuzo, and their lightsabers were ignited. However, the duel that transpires in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 is not believed to be the hyped rematch that takes place between their fight on Mustafar in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and Vader killing Kenobi on the Death Star in A New Hope. That means that a real duel will commence at some point over the final three episodes of the Disney+ series.

Knowing that viewers will see Obi-Wan and Darth Vader fight once more is plenty exciting, even though the outcome of the rematch is already known. This is thanks to one of Vader's most famous lines from A New Hope. In the 1977 film, he tells Obi-Wan that «I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete.
