Valheim’s big Ashlands biome update is unlikely to launch anytime too soon, but in the meantime, developer Iron Gate Studio has been promising a meaty content update -- previously known as Hildir’s Quest, but now renamed Hildir’s Request -- to tide players over. Well, that update has arrived for those playing on public test servers.
The Hildir’s Request update adds the titular new merchant Hildir, who will have some new missions for you. You can also look forward to a trio of classic dungeons, new world and difficulty modifiers, and, of course, the usual array of items and cosmetics. You can get a full rundown of the new Valheim Hildir’s Request content, below.
“Haldor is not the only merchant in the family – and his sister Hildir has made her way to Valheim at last. But she has had some trouble on the way, and it appears most of her stock has gone missing. When you find her, she might request some help! This update also brings some long awaited server modifiers; select a lower difficulty for a more casual experience, ramp it up for a hardcore playthrough, or come up with a mix of your own!”
New Content
The Hildir’s Request update also includes the usual array of fixes and smaller tweaks (you can now see your beard when wearing a helmet!) – you if you need to know about them, you can check out the full, unabridged patch notes here.
Valheim can be played on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. As mentioned, the Hildir’s Request update is available on test servers now. A date has not been provided for the update’s wide release.
