Many gamers even claim that she is one of the most complicated enemies, and possibly the hardest opponent, available in the game. While there have been different strategies to beat Elden Ring's Malenia, even up to this day a lot of players have difficulty in defeating one of the game's secret bosses.

However, the mix of combinations and deadly maneuvres performed by the AI can sometimes be difficult to gauge, especially within the fast-paced battles that occur at certain points of the game. Elden Ring is known to punish players if they're not careful enough with their approach against the opponent, and that's why careful positioning, knowledge of the hitboxes, memorization of combos, and a gooda mount of patience is needed to master the game.
One Elden Ring fan has shared their own tutorial on how to avoid one of the game's hardest attacks. Reddit user DuploJamaal shared a video of Malenia's Waterfowl Dance with the hitboxes during the move made visible. The footage clearly show the micro-seconds in which the attack suddenly has a domical hitbox. While the individual slashes highlight the perfect timing to roll and dodge, the giant hitboxes in-between reflect the moments when the attack becomes similar to an AOE move.
Naturally, fans in the comments section responded negatively about the attack. Most gamers found the semi-spherical hitbox to be a cheap tactic, and some even thought the ridiculous depiction of the attack should be adjusted even further, believing her hits feel even more unfair in actual combat.
