The first gameplay trailer for upcoming MMO Chrono Odyssey shows off an impressive first look at how the game will play.
Earlier today (May 3) Npixel showed off some gameplay for Chrono Odyssey, its MMO that was first announced in 2020 for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Gameplay looks to be real-time action combat, rather than the kind of thing you find in games like Final Fantasy 14 or World of Warcraft where inputs normally have delayed reactions. The trailer mostly focuses on a warrior with a sword-and-shield setup, simply called Swordsman. But it also gives a look at Rangers, Berserksers, and Sorcerers, so it looks like there are plenty of styles to choose from.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, the game's producer Samuel Seo went into more detail about the game, talking about its open-world setting, combat, and more. «Step into the breathtaking world of Setera, an open-world wilderness that transports you to a world that feels ever-changing,» said Seo. «Immerse yourself in the stunning scenery which transforms with each passing season, with a realism that captures the essence of a living and breathing environment.»
In terms of combat, you'll have to balance attacking, defending, dodging, and switching up multiple weapons, which you can do «in real-time to gain the upper hand in battle.» It's not clear if it's meant to be Soulsian in any way,
