Comics, games, and an future TV show were not enough.

The second official Horizon board game, entitled Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion, will feature a new, canonical story leading up to the events of the video game.
The first board game, just called Horizon Zero Dawn, didn't have narrative component and was semi-cooperative. Seeds of Rebellion is fully cooperative and tells a story of what occurred in the titular Forbidden West before Aloy's arrival in the video game. The game follows marshals of the Tenakth tribe, investigating a rebellion brewing within their ranks. You and up to 3 other players will investigate the rebellion, explore the world, pick up quests and equipment, and contend with the massive machines that are the franchise's hallmark.
Steamforged Games worked with the narrative team at Guerrilla to shape the story components of the board game. Seeds of Rebellions is built on the foundation of the previous game, so you can even bring in those miniatures for use in Seeds of Rebellion. The game adds a new stealth system, new suites of abilities you can employ as the marshals, and of course, new machines to battle against. With these features come new miniatures, though only the tremortusk has been shown off so far.
This is far from the only cross-media element of Horizon. A Horizon TV show was announced in 2022. Comics have released semi-regularly since 2020. Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion launches on Kickstart on November 21, 2023.
