A Palworld player made the mistake of building their base while holding a rocket launcher and the results were explosive. Pocket Pair's open-world adventure game of exploration, combat, and catching battling creatures, is moving through early access and steadily building a following of fans. Palworld has drawn comparisons to Pokemon for its monster capturing mechanics and other features but, in important ways, it's managed to distinguish itself from the classic franchise. Notably, Palworld has added base-building to the mix.
While some fans may focus on the combat and exploration, others have poured themselves into the design and construction of amazing bases. Recently, for example, a Palworld player recreated the Burj Khalifa in the game while others have devoted themselves to building bases inspired by fantasy settings or their favorite TV or film series. In the short time Palworld has been available, there have truly been some remarkable achievements and success stories. Of course, some gamers have also suffered some setbacks along the way.
On Reddit, Palworld player BlingCringus has shared a video of them accidentally blowing up a part of their base while attempting to build while holding a rocket launcher. It seems that, while trying to place a Hot Springs item, they fired a rocket instead, blowing a hole in the floor of the base. Even worse, the player then fell through the floor and fired a second shot, triggering a larger explosion that destroyed the entire base.
Getting the Rocket Launcher in Palword is no easy feat, and it makes for a very effective weapon, so inadvertently turning it against oneself must particularly sting for a veteran player. BlingCringus, to their credit, appears to be taking the loss in stride, however. In the comments, they respond to other Redditors by laughing the incident off, even adding that they were having trouble with that base anyway, so it wasn't too big of a loss.
Already, Palworld fans are calling for new building features.
