UK retailer Game is ending its reward programme next month, it has announced.
The Game Reward scheme enables customers to earn points on qualifying purchases, which can then be used to reduce the cost of future purchases.
Game Elite, a premium version of the scheme which includes special monthly offers and entry into prize draws and promotions, is also closing.
In an FAQ, the retailer said it’s ending Game Reward and Elite on July 31 at 11:59pm.
Customers will be able to earn reward points in store and online until July 15, after which they’ll have a little over two weeks to redeem them before they’re lost.
If customers purchased a Game Elite membership on a monthly basis, it will expire on the day that their next monthly direct debit payment would have been taken out.
Customers with 12-month memberships will have their membership cancelled on July 31, unless it automatically expires before this date.
Game’s UK retail businesses are spread over 320 standalone stores and concessions within Sports Direct and House of Fraser, according to Frasers Group, which acquired the company for £52 million in 2019.
In January, Game confirmed plans to end its long-running pre-owned video game business.
More recently, it was claimed that Game was cutting an unspecified number of jobs as it moved most non-managers to zero-hours contracts.
