Ubisoft is shutting down online services for more ‘older’ games in January
Ubisoft has announced plans to close the online services for more of its “older games” on January 25, 2024.
The move will impact 10 games (listed in full below) including four Assassin’s Creed titles, as well as entries in the Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Trials series.
It means that owners of these games will no longer be able to play multiplayer, link Ubisoft accounts in-game or use online features.
Some of the titles impacted by the changes had their online services disabled on other platforms as part of earlier “decommissioning” waves carried out by Ubisoft in 2022.
“Decommissioning such services for older games is not something we take lightly, but is a necessity as the technology that drove those services has grown obsolete,” Ubisoft said this week.

Ubisoft said last week that it has delayed a “large game”, thought to be Star Wars Outlaw, to its next fiscal year beginning in April 2024.
It also confirmed that Skull & Bones will be released in the first three months of 2024.
