Retailers are offering a number of PS5 bundle deals to coincide with today’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 release.
In the US, where the PS5 ‘Slim’ launched this week, retailers are offering the new console with a copy of the game for under $500.
With the console’s RPP being $499.99, buyers are effectively getting a free copy of what will be one this year’s and next year’s best-selling games, even in the face of negative early reviews.
Walmart is currently selling the new PS5 model bundled with Modern Warfare 3 for $499. It’s also offering the console bundled with Spider-Man 2 for the same price.
Best Buy is selling the same Modern Warfare 3 and Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundles for $499.99.
Interestingly, these retailers aren’t currently offering any discounts on the PS5 launch model, which is also being sold for around $500 either standalone or bundled with one of the aforementioned titles.
In contrast, in the UK, where the updated PS5 is yet to be released, Sony has discounted the launch model to coincide with Modern Warfare 3’s release and presumably to shift stock ahead of the new hardware’s introduction.
The PS5 Console – Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Bundle has an RRP of £539.99, according to Sony. But the platform holder has launched it with what it’s calling a “special introductory” price of £409.99, which is available until November 23.
This price is being matched by retailers including Amazon, while Currys has it for £409, and Ebuyer leads the chasing pack with a £399.99 deal.
