Reckful's tragic passing in 2020 broke the hearts of many of his fans. Some of Reckful's associates decided to create a channel dedicated to replaying his Twitch VODs, creating a place for fans to celebrate the World of Warcraft player's life online. It's unclear where today's brief interruption to the Twitch stream came from.
Reckful was one of Twitch's most popular streamers. He got on the Twitch bandwagon early, streaming as early as 2009. His favorite game was World of Warcraft, in which he competed professionally and consistently performed among the best players in the world. Part of why Reckful connected with his audience was his openness regarding his struggles with depression and mental illness, as he was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder as a child. Reckful passed away on July 2, 2020, at the age of 31.

Early Wednesday morning, the ReckfulRerun Twitch account was suddenly banned without warning. All that was clear was the ban for ReckfulRerun was listed as an indefinite ban, meaning it may have been permanent. Those running the channel would later confirm that Twitch's ban was due to «Distribution of Malware or Harmful Websites,» but no further information was provided as per Twitch policy. An appeal was made with the help of Reckful's friends on Twitch, and the channel was unbanned less than three hours later.
