Twitch has removed streamer and TikToker Chica's popular cartoon chick emote, chicaL, stating that the reason is that the emote falls under "Disallowed content - Targeted insults, bullying, and threatening or inciting abuse."
Nobody seems to understand why it falls under that bracket, with Chica herself simply tweeting, "???" in response. One theory posits that, because the emote shows the cute little chick holding up an L to their forehead (calling you a loser), it's arguably "inciting abuse" (thanks, Kotaku).

That might hold up as an argument to your second-grade teacher after a spat on the playground during lunch, but otherwise, a cute chick emote holding up an L is harmless. In fact, Chica is known for playing Fortnite which has an L dance emote in it, taking that chick's little hand gesture to an even more vicious level. But there might be another reason behind the ban, and that's simply because it has one letter.
"I think they're removing any emotes with single letters because people would use them to write bad stuff," Call of Duty streamer Natarsha said. "I had my F emote removed too."
GirlyBella added, "They took my W, L, F," corroborating this theory. Using emotes to spell out words could theoretically bypass moderation systems, so this may hold some weight. However, there's a specific guideline that prohibits "emotes containing a single letter", but this isn't why the chicaL emote was removed. The reason was for "inciting abuse", further confusing why it was taken away.
