Torchlight: Infinite 'The City of Aeterna' Adding New Hero, Spirit Magus Iris, New Fiery Trait for Gemma and More
Torchlight: Infinite is preparing for its next season, The City of Aeterna, which will arrive on September 7th. XD has been peeling back the layers on what this big update will bring, with a special stream with tons of new details.
The City of Aeterna, specifically its ruins, will be new to explore. There will be challenges and many opportunities to claim some loot. There are a series of timed challenges to take on where you have to do things like rekindle the candelabra flames and when you do you will get something called Marks of Ruin. These Marks Are the key to activating a number of reward spots on the world map. If you join these dots by claiming Marks and then connecting them, you'll be able to maximize the reward drops and complete the map so you can enter the city itself.
As you try to rebuild the city, the new season boss, the Lone King of Aeterna, is not going to take that quietly. This battle will be more difficult with the more dots you connect on the world map, but in exchange, the potential drops are much better.
The update debuts a new hero, Iris. Iris is different from other heroes we've seen so far, as she is a Spirit Magus originally from another world. She can summon Spirit Magi to fight with her, as she buffs them with support spells in battle. These spirits will work differently from other summoned minions we’ve seen before.
They’re not going to wither in battle and are more like her sidekicks. You’ll be able to level them alongside Iris. The spirits have a Growth mechanic and there are five growth tiers that you can use to increase their base attributes. You can also unlock talents or equip certain gear to max out your spirits Iris will first become available for holders of the City of Aeterna
