A legal expert revealed that Todd and Julie Chrisley from Chrisley Knows Best may receive a heavy sentence. By now, it is public knowledge that the Chrisleys were indicted and charged with 12 counts of tax evasion, wire fraud and bank fraud in 2019. At the time, the couple was able to clear their name after explaining to authorities that even though their names were mentioned in the crime, they were being framed by a former employee. While waiting for a trial date, Todd and Julie released several online statements naming the names of who they believed were involved in the fraudulent crimes. This resulted in them being sued for defamation by said individuals, but much did not become of these cases.
The Chrisleys swore on their innocence and were not afraid of going to trial. Once the trial began in 2022, the jury listened to several testimonies, some of which were disparaging to the couple, but Todd, Julie and their family remained hopeful that they would be proven innocent. However, the couple was found guilty on all counts, and they are currently awaiting their sentencing on October 6. Usually, this type of verdict would not receive great sentencing, but it has been speculated that the Chrisleys could be facing up to 30 years in prison.
