Publisher THQ Nordic has announced it's bringing Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition to PS5. Unveiled via the above trailer, it looks like this will be a pretty straightforward port of the action title, and it launches on 15th October 2024.
The original Darksiders 2 launched for PS3 in 2012, while the Deathinitive Edition's origin can be traced back to 2015 on PS4. While the PS4 rendition is playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility, it's getting its own current-gen version, though what the exact benefits of the port are remain to be seen. What we do know is that owners of Deathinitive Edition on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
THQ Nordic also stresses that this announcement is not related to the recent Darksiders teaser, which will presumably be something new.

Oooooh interesting, I never got round to getting Darksiders 2’s remaster yet so will definitely be getting the PS5 version of it for sure
@MrPeanutbutterz From that trailer it looks like it is. Which is basically all we need really. The PS4 port was shackled by 30 and that was the only thing stopping me from double dipping.
Nice! And the price is perfect.
I’m really easily amused because I spat my tea when I read the headline.
@themightyant what is the price?
I expect more thq PS4 to PS5 ports, they're desperate for money. Any word if there trophy autopop?
