So, Thor and Hercules are supposed to tussle on the big screen in the next film. But when is the next Thor outing coming out?

The status of Thor 5 was unconfirmed until Taika Waititi’s quote in Thor: Love and Thunder The Official Movie Special book recently came to light. Credible Marvel scoopers and industry insiders like MyTimeToShineHello have also confirmed the film to be under development.

Predicting its release date is tricky. So far, there’s no confirmation of whether the film will occur before or after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 1, 2026). However, there are three potential release slots that the next Thor outing could opt for.

If the film takes place before Avengers 5, it could arrive in early 2026, on Marvel’s February 13 slot. The second possibility is to release in the second half of 2026 (on July 24 or November 6). 

If that’s the case, then its story could be a prequel to The Kang Dynasty, allowing Thor to appear in the crossover. Or the events of the film could take place after The Kang Dynasty and lead us directly into Avengers: Secret Wars. In that case, it could also tap into the third possibility, which is Marvel’s early 2027 slot.

Out of the three release windows, it’s likely that Thor 5 would happen in the second half of 2026. Doctor Strange 3’s narrative is supposed to lead us directly into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. So, that film might take the February 13, 2026 slot instead of Thor 5.
