Bandai Namco has released a five minute trailer attempting to explain how the gameplay loop for its new Death Note adaptation – free with PS Plus Essential this week – works. It’s complicated, so you’ll need to pay attention, and maybe even watch the video twice.
Effectively, we’re looking at an Among Us social deduction-style experience for ten players, which fits the subject material well. Your goal, depending on which side you’re on, is to either eliminate your opponents using the eponymous Death Note – or detect who Kira is and dispose of the murderous memo.
Day one on PS Plus Essential
Each match will unfold in phases, and you’ll have tasks to complete during each round. Obviously, your primary goal will be to deceive your opponents, however, and reach your ultimate objective undetected.
