The X-Men's Messiah is Becoming Marvel's Most Powerful Mutant

Hope Summers from Marvel Comics is considered by many to be the X-Men's «Mutant Messiah,» being the first mutant born after the fateful M-Day, when over 90% of mutants lost their powers due to the Scarlet Witch. Now, thanks to the machinations of Mister Sinister, Hope Summers is getting a seat on the Quiet Council of Krakoa, becoming one of the most powerful and influential mutants in the world.
When Wanda Maximoff uttered the infamous words, «No more mutants» in House of M #7 by Brian Michael Bendis, John Dell, Scott Hanna, Tim Townsend, and Olivier Coipel, it seemed the end for the mutant race. Reduced to a few hundred, even the foremost mutant thinkers thought that all hope was lost, until Hope manifested herself. As the first mutant born after M-Day, this baby girl immediately became the target of both friends and foes. She was saved by Cable, and raised in his distant future, before returning to the present timeline to join the X-Men. When Hope returned to the present, with her mutant powers manifested, she inadvertently activated five new mutants, realizing she had the potential to undo the effects of M-Day. The Phoenix Force also sensed Hope's return and went to Earth to possess her. After a battle between the Avengers and the X-Men, Hope became the Phoenix's host and, using her powers to augment her own, undid the Scarlet Witch's spell and brought back the mutant race.
