In a battle against one of the biggest monsters in the Marvel Comics universe, Iron Man's nano armor proved that you don't always need a Buster suit to stop larger-than-life opponents. After his Fin Fang Foom-Buster armor failed, Tony Stark turned to a much smaller version of armor, his Model 58 suit, allowing him to send mini armored versions of himself throughout the villain's bloodstream. The nano tech proved that bigger isn't always better when it comes to Iron Man's armor.
Tony Stark has developed some incredibly impressive, massive suits of armor to specifically take on huge villains in the Marvel Universe. Most famously, in the pages of Marvel Comics, Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor was made to counter the Incredible Hulk. However, he's also sported armors made to take on the King in Black, Thor, and more of some of the strongest opponents the hero has ever faced. However, when he came face-to-face with a mind-controlled Fin Fang Foom and his Fin Fang Foom-Buster armor failed, Iron Man turned to his Model 58 suit, which proved to be the perfect solution to stopping the giant-sized villain.

In Tony Stark: Iron Man #1 by Dan Slott, Valerio Schiti, Edgar Delgado, and VC's Joe Caramagna, Iron Man finds himself taking on Fin Fang Foom, whose brain is being controlled by the Controller. After sending his Fin Fang Foom-Buster armor to stop the giant dragon monster, Tony Stark is forced to abandon the massive suit after the villain smashes it. However, iron Man quickly recovers and shoots a small piece of nano tech inside Fin Fang Foom's bloodstream, unleashing thousands of mini Iron Men controlled through dance.
