Every comic reader knows that Thanosis one of Marvel’s greatest antagonists, famously known for his nihilistic obsession with death. In contrast, his younger brother Erosis a lighthearted hedonist whose reverence for life provides a balance against the so-called “Mad Titan”. It’s this dynamic that keeps their relationship so interesting, and the reason why—despite the fact that he has all the ingredients for villainy—Eros should firmly choose heroism.
The brothers were created by Jim Starlin and made their first appearance in The Invincible Iron Man #55(1973) by Starlin and Mike Freidrich. Both remained largely unknown for decades, but when the Infinity event bolstered Thanos’ wider appeal among comic fans, Eros retained mostly cult status until his recent debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe prompted more general curiosity. Though his abilities are less varied than Thanos’, his psychic influence over the emotions of others is a significant power—and one that has put him in the hot seat before.

The spacefaring adventurer known as Starfox has not always used his euphoric manipulation for the greater good. In She-Hulk #6-7 (2006) by Dan Slott and Will Conrad, he is brought to trial on Earth after several women file sexual assault allegations against him.
