Reservation Dogs star, Devery Jacobs, is joining the cast of Marvel's upcoming Echo series for Disney+. Created by Marion Dayre and based on the comics character of the same name, Echo will continue the story of Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez, following the events of Hawkeye. First introduced as an antagonist for Clint Barton to face, the series began exploring more of her background and Kingpin's involvement in her traumatic past, and left fans curious about where she will go next. After positive reception to the MCU's inclusion of its second deaf character and the way she was portrayed, Echo was officially confirmed in back November, with Cox set to star, along with Vincent D'Onofrio and Daredevil's Charlie Cox.
Now, Deadline is reporting that Devery Jacobs has been added to the cast of Echo, as alluded to last week by Alaqua Cox's Instagram post. Though details surrounding Jacobs' role are being kept under wraps, her character, Julie, has been described as "resilient and strong willed," and is assumed to be a main character.

Prior to her performance as Elora Danan on Reservation Dogs, a role that earned her a Gotham Award nomination for Outstanding Performance in a New Series, Jacobs appeared in American Gods and Netflix's The Order. With the filming of Echo having already begun, it will be interesting to see how much of the series and Jacobs' character Marvel Studios decides to reveal. As the MCU continues to release new content on Disney+, viewers can look forward to Echo when it arrives sometime in 2023.
