Reed Richards just told one of the biggest lies in history to ensure The Thing would be focused during their ongoing battle against the Reckoning. In Fantastic Four #42 by Marvel Comics, the Watcher-powered Ms. Fantastic reveals to Ben Grimm his children were sacrificed to stop the Badoon from reaching the Forever Gate. Then, after his fellow Fantastic Four member beats him to a pulp, Reed reveals he lied because Grimm's worries about his family had put him off his game. It's incredibly messed up.
In the current Fantastic Four ongoing series from Marvel Comics, Ben Grimm and Alicia Masters have welcomed two adopted children into their lives. The Skrull N'Kalla and Kree Jo-Venn were enslaved during the continuous war between the two races, later freed by Valeria and Franklin Richards. Without a home or family to call their own, The Thing and Alicia adopted the children and have raised them like their own. Ben has shown genuine care and love for his adopted children, so he understandably gets angry when Reed Richards tells them they were just sacrificed in the current Reckoning War.
