Fantastic Four Is Setting Up The Team's Biggest Loss Yet

Franklin and Valeria Richards might be making the ultimate sacrifice to keep the planet safe during the current Reckoning War with the Fantastic Four off-planet. In a brand new preview forFantastic Four #42 by Marvel Comics, it's heavily implied that the children of Marvel's first family will perish as the Badoon push forward to the Forever Gate. The preview ends with Reed with tears in his eyes as «protocol zero» is activated, leaving the young heroes' tragic fate and possible deaths up in the air.
In the Fantastic Four ongoing series at Marvel Comics, the Badoon have attacked Earth as an alien race called the Reckoning have provided Watcher-tech weapons to some of the most dangerous aliens across the cosmos. The attack has split Marvel's first family up across the galaxy, as Johnny Storm has gone to Spyre to protect his former flame, Sky. Meanwhile, Reed (who has the powers of the Watcher), Ben Grimm, and Sue Storm have teleported to Shi'Ar space to defend the M'Kraan Crystal. Unfortunately, that has left Valeria and Franklin Richards protecting the Forever Gate with Ben Grimm's adopted children, and it seems their tragic deaths are being set up.

In the preview of Fantastic Four #42 by Dan Slott, Rachel Stott, Jesus Aburtov, Erick Arciniega, and VC's Joe Caramagna, the Badoon's attack with the gifts of the Reckoning weaponry is in full swing. Franklin, Valeria, Nicki, and Jo defend against the breach before the Richards' siblings realize they need to call their dad and find out their next move.
