The Thing: Remastered Released Alongside New Trailer
Surprise! announced is available now during the livestream. Gamers can pick it up now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It is also available to stream in the cloud via NVIDIA GeForce Now for members.
The Thing: Remastered is a collaborative effort between Nightdive Studios and Universal Products & Experiences to faithfully recreate the 2002 third-person survival horror shooter. Based on the beloved 1982 John Carpenter film The Thing, the game’s plot is essentially a sequel as it takes place after the events that occurred at Outpost #31.
The Thing: Remastered gets several upgrades for modern consoles and PCs. Nightdive Studios modernized the game’s proprietary KEX Engine for current-generation platforms, allowing for resolutions up to 4K, and frame rates up to 120 FPS. Compatible hardware is needed to hit those benchmarks, which means you’ll need a compatible display, and a PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S. The studio also made improvements to character models, textures, animation, lighting, and atmospheric effects. Check out the trailer below to see it in action.
