The Super Mario Bros. Movie is releasing two days earlier than previously announced
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released two days earlier than previously expected.
The film is “moving from April 7 to April 5 in the US and in more than 60 markets around the world”, according to an official announcement on Tuesday.
The film will hit cinemas in additional markets in April and May, including Japan on April 28.
At the time of publishing, Universal Pictures’ UK site is still listing the film as being released on April 7, meaning its release hasn’t been moved forward in the UK or the website has yet to be updated.
A Nintendo Direct presentation themed around The Super Mario Bros. Movie will take place on March 9.
Nintendo has said the presentation will reveal the final trailer for the movie and that it won’t include any game information.
Nintendo and Illumination premiered the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie in October, giving Mario fans the first chance to hear Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario.
This was followed bya second trailer in November, which debuted the voices of Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Luigi (Charlie Day) for the first time. It also showed a racing scene inspired by Mario Kart.
