The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior shares a sweet reaction to Ratcatcher 2 and Peacemaker fan art from the film's climactic Jotunheim scene. Melchior and John Cena first brought the two characters to life in James Gunn's DC Extended Universe standalone sequel, in which they were recruited by Amanda Waller to head to the fictional South American island of Corto Maltese to eliminate all traces of Starro the Conqueror. Alongside Ratcatcher 2 and Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad featured the DCEU debuts of Idris Elba's Bloodsport, Sylvester Stallone's King Shark, David Dastmalchian's Polka-Dot Man, Nathan Fillion's T.D.K. and Sean Gunn's Weasel.
The Suicide Squad also marked the returns of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag, Viola Davis' Amanda Waller and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Though the film underperformed at the box office due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the DCEU sequel would prove to be a smash hit for Warner Bros., becoming the most-successful DC film on HBO Max and receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. This success has spawned the John Cena-led spin-off Peacemaker and a newly confirmed second spin-off series, and fans are continuing to show their love for The Suicide Squad.
